Any adult JW could be anointed. Jehovah chooses them.
"For there are many invited, but few chosen." (Matt 22:14)
someone mention on another thread about the newest- youngest governing body member- if he is anointed being baptised around 1975 why wouldnt anyone else baptised around that time be anointed too!.
right ???
or since the call to be anointed ended in 1935 teaching became no more with new light - is it random choosing now??

preaching in foreign lands....in english.
There may be some engish retirement enclaves in latin countries (Mexico, Ecuador) that need to be preached to.
as of yet, no member of the jehovah's witness faith can defend their unique beliefs.
when the dust settles, it all comes down to blind faith in men's ever-changing ideas.
this "unique belief" was not a "true teaching of the bible.
Jehovah exists.
Get off your butts and find Him.
Or not.
out of interest, and to formulate a cordial chat, would you give your top one reason for your belief or non belief?.
my foremost 'one reason' for non belief is:.
the historical evidence that provides an explination and timeline for how the modern religious doctrine's and dogma developed over time.. .
I believe in God because my prayers are consistently answered.
To venerate the creation rather than the Creator? No thanks. (Romans 1:25)
i was wondering if anyone is aware of any recordings of the convention as of yet?

just curious if anyone had a copy yet.. thanks!.

i knew one that died not too long ago.
he was an old presiding overseer of one congo since the early 1960's.. he died in the saddle with his boots on.. he was watchtower overseer and cobe.. he died at 90.. he was beloved by many.. if this new change of getting rid of cobe's happened 10 years ago, when this "honored" one was just 80, i have no idea how he and his family would have taken it.. it certainly would have shaken them and theircongo up.. -----> getting rid of co's at 70.. -----> getting rid of all district overseers.. -----> wt has already let go thousands of bethel workers.. -----> selling off properties and pocketing their profits for themselves.. ----->monthly "donations" from each khall wt/gb owns already.. what a man made up religion.. what a snare and a racket!.
loislane.
Lois, in our case it's a mixed blessing. Our COBE is very theocratic and does the job well, but he has been ill for a couple of months now, so I think everyone would reluctantly agree that he should step aside.

Mine is.
a new letter no longer allows an elder to be cobe if hes 80 or more.
I hope this is not true. Our beloved COBE is over 80 years old. Our patriarch.
i hear that a recent talk was about taking care of one's aging parents.
i agree.
generally, kids should take care of aging parents.
carla, to answer your question, yes.
Paragraph 8 on page 21 states: "...adult Christian children have an obligation to make sure that their parents' material needs are met. Paul was discussing believing relatives, but parents who are not members of the Christian congregation should not be neglected."
